AM System was delighted to be appointed alongside Mather & Co to deliver this prestigious space at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, celebrating the birthplace of the Paralympic movement for the National Paralympic Heritage Trust.
Designed to be fully accessible for all visitors to enjoy, each video display and screen offers audio description, alongside braille sheets and large-print booklets, whilst each step of the project was meticulously designed with wheelchair accessibility in mind. The project’s main focus was to build and install a number of interactive, educational displays revolving around the rich history of the Paralympic Games. These included:
● The life and work of Professor Sir Ludwig Guttmann
● Key milestones from the Stoke Mandeville Games to the present day Paralympic Games
● The development of wheelchair sports
● Paralympic ceremonies
“NPHT is immensely grateful to you and all your colleagues at AM System Limited for the Heritage Centre you built and installed for us at Stoke Mandeville. It is work of the highest quality. We were, moreover, mightily impressed with the calm and professional way you all went about your work.”
